There is on street paid parking.  Also, some streets allow two hours free parking in the uptown area (look for signs, as which side can be parked on may alternate halfway throughout the month), such as:

*Germain Street up to where it meets Princess Street

*Canterbury Street past Duke Street

*Horsfield Street

*The streets around Queen Square (Queen Square North,

Queen Square South, and Sydney Street)

*Some sections of Duke Street

*Some sections of Princess Street
